I am now entering my fourth semester in the RN program at Merced College....it has been a long road...one I sometimes thought I would never see the end of...yet here I am. I have learned so much, not only as a nurse, but as a person. This experience has made me a better person, and a better Mom. I am amazed each day at the intense support I feel from my kids. They have been there with me thru it all and I am so grateful to have them in my life. Jessica and Jake are my greatest champions, and I would have not made it without them. I think that I have shown them that you can accomplish anything, and this experience has made them stronger people. I am so excited to become a nurse this summer, and feel that it is one of the most amazing jobs one can have...aside from being a MOM of corse!!!

Summer Days......

This so far has been a great summer. I am off of school for a few months, and though strangely enough I MISS school, I have been enjoying the time spent with my kids. I took Jake ans Jess to my friends beach house for a some quality time with just the three of us and we had a great time. They are truely excited to have Mommy done with school in a year, and Jessi talks non stop about our trip to Hawaii we will be taking once I am a nurse! I am very blessed to have such a great life, and am grateful for my kids and for my family! Hope this finds all of you well and blessed in your lives!

Here are the kids and I on my 35th birthday..wow am I really that old??? The kids and I have been enjoying our summer. It has been busy, getting ready for RN school, lots to do! We are getting ready for a camping trip in August , that should be fun, then it is back to school! Hope all is well with everyone, and that you have all been enjoying your summer! Well it is that time of year again..T-Ball season. Jake is on the Giants again, Yahooooo!! He is so darn cute out on the field...VERY serious about the game. I love to watch his games, he really makes me proud. Kids are so wonderful, just little small things they do can make your day!! I asked Jake what his favorite thing about T-ball was, and he said the snack..well if you k now my Jake that is NOT a surprise!! Way to go Boy!! Love you lots..Mommy

Wow...How TEN Years do fly by!!

You know I can not remember any longer when I wasn't "Jessica's Mommy"...and I love that!! My girl turned TEN this last January, and as a Mom, that was a milestone for me. I can not believe that ten long years ago I held that precious girl for the first time, and thought to myself....wow she is amazing. Jessica is such a special spirit, she has a really gentle soul, and an amazing love to give. This party was a special one because it was the first time she actually wanted to invite friends from school, as well as it being a little more "teenish"..the kids had to play more "grown up" games like dance contests and things. Mom actually suggested pin the tail on the donkey...I know I know what WAS I thinking?? It was an experience that is for sure. But I would not trade any moment spent with Jessi for anything, even in those moments when I think I am at my wits end..I try to remember how fast this time will go. I am currently working part time at the grammar school while I am finishing this night class, and I am constantly called "Jessica's Mommy" or "Jacob's Mommy"..and an adult said to me "that drives me crazy..doesn't it you too?" I just smiled and thought to myself, never in a million years will I get tired of being called their Mom...it is the BEST title I will ever have. So here is to the first ten years of being a Mom...not the easiest road I have traveled, but definitely the most rewarding...and to my girl, one of the most precious people I will ever know...

Our Big Snow Trip....

The kids and I went with Keith (my boyfriend) and his boys ( Rex and Jake), for our first big "family" vacation to Pollock Pines this Jan. We had a really great time and it was a good example of how our families can blend. We went sledding at the snow park on the summit, the kids had a total blast, and though as parents of FOUR it was a lot of work, Keith and I worked great together as a team!! There was no actual snow at our cabin when we got there on Tuesday, but on Thursday a big storm blew in while we were out on the road, and we not only got to play in brand new powder snow, but when we got back to the cabin, it was all white!! So neat. It was very special time, and we all have a ton of new memories to cherish. We are looking forward to all the great times in store this new year, and hope all of you had a great holiday season!! Love you Guys...the Wilsons

No RN school....at least not YET....

Well...I did not get a CALL, but I did get a letter..and it was THIN..so we all know what that usually means. No I did not get the scholorship, and even though I am really bummed I know that logically I have not been on the waiting list very long, so it is only fair that someone who HAS gets in first. But I really want it. I am so anxious to start my RN training so the kids and I can get through those two years and get out on our own again. There still is a SLIGHT chance that I can still get in for the Jan semester if some of the selected students don't show up the first day..so I will be waiting by my phone. But either way in August they are changing the requirements to be based on merit and grades, not first come first serve, so that will benefit me ! Yahoo!! So it is back to school to work on my BA requirements, and I will continue my waiting.....Ok, love you all, S

OK, so it is November already! Do you ever notice how time goes by so fast when you are an adult, I remember as a kid waiting and waiting for Halloween, and Christmas...but now it seems like we just had Halloween "05, and boom, we are in ' 06! The kids and I are great! I am anxiously awaiting my phone call as to if I will be accepted into the RN program in Merced this Jan!! I should know by next week, so keep your fingers crossed. Jessica is growing so fast, this Halloween she went out for a little while with her "buddies" from school trick-or-treating..wow that was a HARD one to take. But I did good, and only looked out the window for a few minutes. Jake is riding his bike with out training wheels, and is crazy like most boys are.. mommy's daredevil! We are enjoying the cool November weather, and looking forward to our vacation to the snow in January. This Thanksgiving is the first we have spent together in a few years, so it will be a special one. I hope all of our friends and family have a wonderful Thanksgiving, cherish your moments together! Hello Fall.....

Well this school year started off great..the kids are doing FANTASTIC in school...getting so smart! Jake is in the top of his first grade class, reading like a champ, and my Jess is doing so awesome, her teacher tells me daily how amazing she is! I finished my CNA corse and passed the boards (all the while wishing it was the RN boards)..but one step at a time! Still awaiting my letter stating when I will be starting RN school..but at least now I will be in the medical feild. We are enjoying the cooler weather, and are looking forward to Halloween, though the kids can not seem to lock in a selection of costumes...Ok, that is all for now...hope everyone is doing well...S

Lemonade Anyone?

So remember the days of lemonade stands? It was fun to see Jessi get her stand together, a refreshing glimpse of the past...and then there was my little entrepreneur Jacob, who decided it would be a good idea to have a "garage sale" with all his little "treasures" (which included a paper handmade scope for $1.50). And it seems he has funky rules for pricing, they go up as you stand there and ponder buying it. Over all they did really good, even scoring a $1.50 tip each on a sale of a toy motorcycle, and two cups of lemonade...pretty good for a calm street like ours.

Sleeping Beauty

My Jessi, what can I say, I just love her so much. The other night she could not sleep because it seemed her "whole body" was aching...and since Jess is not a complainer I think she was really having growing pains. You have these babies and hold them in your arms, they seem so tiny and you think they will never grow up, then you turn around and there they are laying in your bed all long and gangly literally growing in thier sleep...I had to snap this picture so someday when she is all grown I can look back and remember when it was happening...

Summer Days...and puppy dreams

Cousin Meghan got a new lab puppy, and my kids adore him. We all went with Megs to pick Harley out, and although Jake's favorite was a little black female, Meg fell in love with none other than the biggest of the litter! Harley is a very special puppy, and the kids have lots of fun with him, and can not wait till we can get one of our own when we get our own place...but Mom is not too sure about that! Some of the best moments in life are like this summer day, all relaxed and scruffy...

A new way to stay connected..

Ok...so this blog thing seems like a good way to keep family and friends updated on the comings and goings of our little family since life often keeps us too busy to get in touch as often as we would like. So here goes... Well it is summer right now and the kids and have really been enjoying it. I asked jessica what the best thing about summer is and she said "other than swimming..not having to get up in the morning!" Jake says.." that I get to swim..diving into the pool off a diving board"..and well my favorite thing THIS summer is finishing my pre-reqs for the nursing program...Yahoo!! Jake just finished his first year of T-ball, and did great. And Jessica is just enjoying summer in her ever so nonchalant way. ...so there is a little update..., we love you all and hope everyone is doing great...
